The Ryzen 7 9800X3D has quickly gained a reputation as one of the most elusive processors on the market, thanks to its incredible performance. Since its release, this gaming machine, armed with AMD’s cutting-edge 3D V-Cache technology, has consistently sold out across major retailers. Scalpers have only worsened the situation, driving prices to absurd levels, with some listings hitting the $1,000 mark (more than double the processor’s $479 MSRP).
If you’ve been hunting for the 9800X3D and not getting anywhere, Newegg’s recently introduced bundles may be your best shot at getting one for yourself, Tom’s Hardware reports. By pairing the CPU with X870 and X870E motherboards, coolers, or even GPUs like the RX 7900 XTX, Newegg is making it harder for scalpers to snap up stock. Limited to one bundle per customer, these packages offer a practical (if slightly forced) way to join AMD’s AM5 ecosystem while saving a few quid in the process.
Grab a 9800X3D bundle now at Newegg
Newegg’s bundles present a workaround for those tired of playing the waiting game. The most affordable bundle pairs the Ryzen 7 9800X3D with Corsair’s iCUE Link Titan cooler for $654 (oddly enough, the 240mm and the 360mm bundles are the same price). While this means you’re spending more than the CPU’s standalone price, the bundle does provide some value by combining a premium cooler with the processor.
For those building a full system, motherboard bundles offer additional flexibility. The Gigabyte X870 Gaming WiFi bundle (priced at $659) offers a solid entry point into the AM5 platform. Meanwhile, higher-end options like the Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite WiFi 7 ($779, including a 1TB SSD) deliver more robust feature sets for enthusiasts.
If you feel like you need the best performance possible (and have the budget), the Asus ROG Strix Crosshair X870E Hero bundle is a top-tier choice, albeit with a price tag exceeding $1,100. While these bundles may not be ideal for those who only want the CPU, they are a practical way to sidestep scalpers and secure the Ryzen 7 9800X3D while getting additional high-quality components.
Lastly, the RX 7900 XTX bundle is the priciest on the list. This includes the 9800X3D and the 7900 XTX if you can believe it. These two components will set you back $1,329, but it is perfect for gamers who want to secure the two most important components for building an elite gaming rig. There are other options in stock right now, so we strongly encourage you to look before stock runs out.
Why is the Ryzen 7 9800X3D so hard to find?
The scarcity of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is no accident. AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology has set a new benchmark for gaming performance, and the 9800X3D has become the best CPU for gamers who want the most bang for their buck. However, high demand isn’t the only reason this CPU is so difficult to find.

AMD’s production capacity for 3D V-Cache chips is inherently limited due to the complexity of the technology. Manufacturing these processors involves stacking additional cache layers onto the CPU die, requiring precise engineering and longer production times. With supply chains already strained and global demand for high-performance components showing no signs of slowing down, it’s no wonder the 9800X3D has become a hot commodity.
Adding to the challenge is the scalping issue. Scalpers have seized on the high demand, snatching up stock and reselling the processors at inflated prices. For many gamers, this has created a frustrating cycle of trying to snag the CPU at MSRP, only to be met with disappointment and price-gouging.
AMD recently had an interview where an executive blamed Intel for the X3D CPUs’ stock issues. This was just a bit of a dig at Intel, but AMD elaborated further, stating that they plan to ramp up production of the newer X3D chips.

Given the limited inventory and the popularity of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, these bundles aren’t likely to stay in stock for long. Whether you’re looking to upgrade an existing build or start fresh with AMD’s AM5 platform, this could be your best chance to snag the elusive CPU before it vanishes again.
