Apple is planning to incorporate Apple Intelligence into the Vision Pro as early as April, Bloomberg reports.

The report comes just a few days after the $3,500 device turned a year old. The new features will be part of the visionOS 2.4 software upgrade, and they could reportedly become available for developers in beta this week. This update will bring familiar features such as Writing Tools, Genmoji, and Image Playground, but Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman didn’t mention any unique features that will come with the integration.

This marks the first time Apple has expanded Apple Intelligence outside its core products, such as the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, but it shouldn’t be much of a surprise, as the Vision Pro’s specs—with an M2 chipset and 16GB RAM—easily rival the iPad Pro or a MacBook Air and can handle plenty of AI-processing.

Apple reportedly also plans to add a new app to the headset, enabling users to view spatial content specifically tailored to the device, capture 3D images, and view panoramas.

The latest update is also set to include a revamped mode for guest users, which could make it easier to lend the device to friends or family. Users will now be able to set up guests via their iPhone without having to set access privileges on the device itself.

Even with the updates to visionOS, the world of VR and AR software is looking more competitive than ever for Apple. Google launched Android XR in December 2024, a software ecosystem and operating system intended for wearable displays like VR headsets. Based on Android, the OS supports a large number of apps out of the box, alongside the development of new tools for a variety of platforms, like the popular gaming engine Unity.
