Did You Notice Patch Tuesday Accidentally Got Rid Of Copilot? Did You Notice Patch Tuesday Accidentally Got Rid Of Copilot?

A Happy Accident, Alas Only Temporary

The latest patch Tuesday provided a gift to those that aren’t particularly fond of Microsoft installing Copilot on their personal machines.  KB5052093 accidentally uninstalls Copilot and unpins it from the Taskbar on many machines, which you may or may not have noticed.  Your reprieve is only temporary but the fact that an update was able to do something Microsoft officially swears is impossible whenever asked is rather amusing.  There are ways to disembowel Copilot with PowerShell, but even that leaves remnants behind.  It is certainly a compelling reason to stop procrastinating and install the latest updates.

There are a variety of other oddities with the latest updates, for instance you won’t be able to install Roblox from the Microsoft Store on an Arm based Windows device and if you depend on Citrix you may not even be able to install this update.
