Helping Your USB Printer Use Up Ink Quickly
It seems a recent Windows 11 update is confusing USB printers that are also able to speak Internet Printing Protocol. The Register has heard many reports of these printers spewing out pages with IPP headers, network commands and random characters. This tends to happen when the printer is powered on or the USB plug is connected. As you might expect this is more than a bit frustrating, considering just how much printer companies are currently gouging their customers for ink. To add insult to injury, it seems the lessons those companies learned about locking down their printers to proprietary ink and are trying this once again.
The majority of us don’t need any more reasons to hate printers, yet they keep coming up with even more ways to make us miserable.
